Wow! The weekend came and went pretty fast! Usually I notice it speeding by when school is in session but not usually as much during the summer...heck I lose track of what day it is most of the time.
My blog is officially 2 weeks young and I am staring down the barrel of 75 followers... just 10 more and I am having a giveaway!! If any of my followers would like to donate one of their fabulous products, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I can't believe how many wonderful people I have connected with int he last two weeks. I am blown away by the generosity, encouragement and support I have received from the community of teacher-bloggers. And even more exciting is the wealth of new ideas I have read about on all these blogs.
I am still tweaking my first product I created and will be uploading it to my TpT store later this week along with hopefully 2-3 other items. We dropped my son off at Scout camp this afternoon so my days (and nights) will be filled with getting my new store off the ground. Thank you to all my friends in the blogging community who have encouraged me to take this leap! I also appreciate those who gave me feedback on the sample I posted Friday. Your help was greatly appreciated.
This weekend was my husband's weekend off (he works rotating weekends) so we had some great family time before we dropped our son off at camp. We saw a few movies, went out to lunch and dinner a few times (yay! I hate cooking when it is so hot outside) and in case you missed it HERE...bought a new car for me!!
As the weekend winds down and I look ahead to the upcoming week, I realize I might have bitten off more than I can chew....I decided since my son would be gone all week and my husband would be working, that it would be a great time to get in some professional development. Our district hold a month long summer academy, chock full of PD opportunities in July. I signed up for 5 classes this week...so I will be busy, busy, busy. I promise to blog about the great ideas and new things I learn throughout the week in my posts. First up is "Activating ad Summarizing Strategies" tomorrow afternoon....sound interesting and hopefully I will walk away with a few new things for my bag of tricks to spice up my lesson plans. I'll let you know!
Well, I am off to enjoy a cold beverage with my husband on the patio...enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
